Position Description

Division: Brannan Construction Company

Position: Laborer - Pipe Division

Reports To: Foreman

FLSA Status: Full Time

Location: Various Metro Locations

Position Summary:

The position will support the pipe crew by doing whatever is necessary to perform safe and efficient pipe installation. Assists in any equipment maintenance when requested and learns to operate equipment as needed/desired. Maintains a positive attitude on the job site and communicates to the Foreman any obstacles impeding safe production and superior performance and quality.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Follow instructions from the Foreman to deliver pipe work that meets Brannan's quality standards
  • Prepares work area for safe / uniform pipe installation
  • Maintains clean entrance to the jobsite
  • Establishes and maintains proper line and grade
  • Signals for proper bedding amount and ensures proper grade
  • Proactively communicates with the customer and other Brannan team members to maximize quality and efficiency.
  • Proactively identifies key job conditions such as grade and soft spots
  • Asks for help in areas of limited knowledge and/or experience
  • Has a "can-do" attitude when job-site difficulties arise

    • Hourly Pay Range: $17.50 - $22.00

    Position Requirements

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in the pipe installation industry
    • General knowledge of underground utility work
    • Track record of performing similar tasks safely and accurately
    • Ability to take direction from the Foreman and provide support to peers
    • Maintain dependability and responsibility to be at work on time
    • Must have flexibility to work nights and weekends
    • Must have a valid Drivers License and reliable transportation

    Physical Requirements:

    • Standing - 6 to 8 hours daily
    • Walking - 6 to 8 hours daily
    • Bending/Stooping - 6 to 8 hours daily
    • Repetitive Movement (shoveling/sweeping) - 6 to 8 hours daily
    • Lifting (weights up to 100 lbs.) - Occasionally
    • Lift and Carry (50/60 lbs. for 20 feet) - Regularly
    • Push / Pull - 6 to 8 hours daily
