This position is responsible forperforming basic to advanced maintenance functions, procedures, activities andresponsibilities associated with working on natural gas refrigeration andprocess systems with general guidance. Duties include learning from andassisting other technicians with servicing, troubleshooting, installing, andcommissioning of natural gas refrigeration and process systems. The purpose ofthe Service Technician III level is to acquire proficiency in performingadvanced maintenance, new equipment installation, and overhaul actions withlimited supervision that will allow for progression to the Sr. ServiceTechnical level.Principle Duties & ResponsibilitiesRepresents the company in aprofessional manner at all times while providing outstanding customer servicethat aligns with Enerflex visions and values. Responsible for submitting accuratefield service reports, expense reports, timesheets and other necessarypaperwork daily.Responsible for providing leadershipand training to new Field TechniciansIndependently diagnoseengine/compressor failures accurately and efficiently.All duties and responsibilities couldinclude a large amount of (multi state) travel at short notice includingnights, weekends, and holidays.Provides input to Supervisor onpersonnel and materials needs to provide optimal job planning.Complete, accurate, and timelyrebuilds/overhauls of compressors, engines and controls on gas compressorpackages in adverse conditions with limited to no supervision, in remotelocations.Responsible for accuratetroubleshooting of electrical systems, basic controls, and unit control panelsincluding an understanding of PLC and/or microprocessors, Allen Bradley.Responds to and repairs recurringproblems and emergency services as needed independently.Independently perform installation ofnew units including commissioning and start-up inspections without supervisionaccurately.Perform mechanical inspection usingmicrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment and otherspecialty tools independently. Must be able to be on a call-outrotation and effectively make emergency repairs.Must recognize and comply with Health,Safety and Environmental rules and policies that are applicable to eachlocation.Other duties assigned by manager.JobSpecificationsHigh school diploma or generaleducation degree (GED) Certification in Refrigeration Theoryand PrinciplesMust have 10+ years refrigeration andprocess systems experienceMust have proof of universal EPAcertification from the Refrigerant Transition and Recovery CertificationProgram.State Refrigeration Registration orCertification if requiredQualifications: Ability to pass a pre-employment drugscreen, background check and post offer physical testing.Valid motor vehicle drivers license. Demonstrate an ability to learn inboth hands on and classroom setting.Must be proficient with a personalcomputer and common applicable functions/programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook).Knowledge and ability to accuratelycomplete advanced level maintenance, repairs, and installation activitiesunassisted.Strong mechanical and electricalabilities with knowledge and experience to perform complex multiple service andmaintenance tasks.Must have his/her own tools of thetrade. (With exceptions of specialty or OEM specific diagnostic equipment)Ability to use OEM specificinstruments and tooling.Capability to perform monthlypreventive maintenance and repairs on all major OEMs independently.Ability to provide preventative andcorrective field mechanical service on natural gas refrigeration and processsystems on site at end user locations.Ability to identify and stopactivities that are unsafe for personnel or the environment when they occur orabout to occur.Possess an advanced understanding of Refrigerantproperties, conditions, and theories.Has an advanced understanding ofCompressor and Production Equipment types, models, and theory of operation.Possess advanced understanding ofInstallation, Assembly, Commissioning, Trouble Shooting and Repair proceduresrelated to natural gas refrigeration and process systems and equipment.Possess thorough understanding andcare of tooling utilized to install, maintain, and operate Gas Compressors andProduction Equipment. (Dial indicators, Laser alignment tools, feeler gauges,Digital volts Ohm meter, and, Hydraulic torqueing equipment).Ability to demonstrate propertechnique while performing coupling alignments using both Laser and dialindicator methods.Ability to decipher P's, Blueprints,Installation Instructions, and Technical Manuals.OtherSkills, Abilities or Preferred Qualifications: Motivated self-starter capable of working independently andperform basic leadership. Proactively research using both internal and external resources.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write legible, routine correspondence and to speakeffectively as well as coherently with management and other employeesKnowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in theconstruction or repair, troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning ofnatural gas refrigeration and process systems.Ability to understand and follow instructions furnished inwritten, oral, or diagram form.Working ConditionsPhysicalDemands: While performing the duties of thisJob, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, orfeel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequentlyrequired to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly/frequently liftand/or move up to 25 pounds and Infrequently/occasionally lift and/or move upto 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques. WorkEnvironment: While performing the duties of thisJob, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and adverseoutside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high,precarious places and fumes or airborne particles.
