Your role:
The incumbent is responsible for maintaining GMP equipment, clean utilities, and building areas to ensure that the facility provides a compliant, clean, safe, reliable and efficient environment. General duties include completing complex work orders and following the preventative maintenance schedules of equipment that requires trouble-shooting or more advanced training. Duties may be specialized depending on area of expertise, and may include HVAC, Air Compressors, Boilers, USP Purified Water Systems, Clean Steam, and other GMP utilities. The incumbent operates with a high degree of autonomy and accountability and works cross-functionally with stakeholders from every department. The incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing solutions to complex problems, communicating results, and providing data to Quality Assurance.
What your days would look like:
- Support the maintenance and repair of building systems, including electrical, HVAC, USP water, equipment, plumbing and automation;
- Follow SOPs and FDA/cGMP/GLP/OSHA guidelines while performing preventive maintenance and non-scheduled maintenance and support regulatory audit as SME;
- Document work performed in a compliant manner using log books and electronic work order systems;
- Review service contracts with vendors to assure appropriate levels of service;
- Plan, support, and execute special projects for new equipment;
- Support the Facilities, Engineering, and Industrial Process departments with operating, testing and troubleshooting of equipment and systems, including centrifuges, filters, autoclaves, and flow hoods;
- Work with Quality, Validation, Greenhouse, and other groups to ensure timely and professional communication between departments before, during, and after task completion;
- Coordinate with outside contractual support needed to complete specialized electrical, electronics, HVAC, plumbing, automation, and other repair services;
- Help develop and maintain equipment and material specifications and spare parts for facilities, manufacturing and laboratory equipment and systems;
- Provide guidance for specifying equipment and systems according to previous experience;
- Identify, procure, and maintain necessary testing and safety equipment required to safely work on equipment within the Medicago facility;
- Provide support for Facilities equipment including boilers, chillers, air handling units, pumps and refrigeration;
- Provide BMS/BAS controls support and provide data to end users and Quality Assurance to support deviations and quality events;
- Responsible for making adjustments or recommended enhancements in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of job area.
Required profile:
- Technical or Vocational Degree/AAS or equivalent experience
- 7+ years experience in a GMP industrial maintenance environment
- Governmental compliance, GMP / GLP procedures
- Good Knowledge of HVAC, Air Compressors, Boilers, USP Purified Water Systems and Clean Steam
- Strong ability to review and interpret engineering documents, drawings and schematics
- Good working knowledge of and attention to industry-standard safety practices, including OSHA
- Excellent communication skills with a team player mentality
- Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience in building management systems
