Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the construction of single-family homes
  • Fully comprehend blueprints and all construction related documents
  • Responsible for ensuring that homes are built to meet all Brown Haven requirements established by construction plans, building codes, specifications, buyer's contract, personal selections, and buyer's upgrades.
  • Estimate Purchase Order: review the estimate, plans, and selections package giving feedback to preconstruction department on any changes, errors, & omissions found. Take 100% ownership of the package after the meeting. All EPO Review must be completed within 48 hours
  • Monitor and maintain production schedules with CRM software. Manage all trades, from lot clearing through closing, in order to complete homes on time, within budget, and with Brown Haven Homes' high expectation for quality
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier, trade partner, and building inspector relationships. Train & enforce company's quality and performance standards to each trade partner and supplier
  • Work diligently to increase the depth and strength of local subcontractor trade base
  • Conduct daily work inspections and required checklists to ensure that scope of work and Brown Haven standards are met
  • Approve purchase orders & verify it is correct, clean, and completed by trade partners for payment.
  • Process Variance Purchase Orders prior to changed work
  • Evaluate and recommend construction methods to increase quality and profitability
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of ever-changing construction practices, materials, building codes and OSHA requirements
  • Prepare lot evaluation prior to start; verify foundation type, garage entry/location, house position; indicate additional costs due to topos and other conditions affecting the base budget
  • Adhere to company safety program and assure safety of employees, trade partners, and others on-site
  • Stay current on industry trends by reading publications, talking with material suppliers, and attending continuing education
  • Conduct pre-construction meetings, on-site meetings, and homeowner orientations with customers to ensure that all questions and concerns are answered, ensure home is 100% complete prior to closing
  • Conduct Purchase Order reviews and ensure that homes are built to meet all Brown Haven requirements established by construction plans, building codes, specifications, buyer's contract, personal selections, and buyer's upgrades
  • Perform drive-by site evaluations for New Home Specialist as needed
  • Actively maintain the appearance of all sites, completed homes, sales models, and overall company related property and project appearance
  • Perform other duties as directed by the General Manager and VP of Construction

  • Self-motivated individual with high energy level, attention detail, positive attitude, and ability to work well with others
  • Proficient verbal and written communication is necessary between internal staff, trade partners, and customers.
  • Ability to communicate with clients whether it be by text, e-mails, or phone
  • Strong computer skills required
  • Commitment to customer service; ability to answer customer questions
  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills
  • Organization and time management skills are a necessity; multi-tasking and managing projects in multiple communities is required

Working Conditions

  • Predominately construction sites where temperature and noise levels vary
  • Travel required between work sites
  • Must be able to walk or climb in a construction environment, and lift up to 60 lbs
  • General work schedule is Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm, Saturdays by appointment, with additional hours as necessary
