I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
â€¢ Responsible for the design and construction management oversight of corporate facilities at The Queen s Medical Center (QMC), as well as, supporting operations at The Queen s Health Systems (QHS) in strict accordance with appropriate corporate standards, schedules and budgets that meet all requirements of the user groups.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
â€¢ Essential: finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
â€¢ Continuous: sitting, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
â€¢ Frequent: walking.
â€¢ Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, climbing stairs and ladders, walking on uneven ground, climbing over and crawling under construction obstructions, lifting and carrying usual weight of 1 pound up to 20 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.
â€¢ Operates computer, calculator, telephone, fax, printer and other business office machines.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
â€¢ Works in general office and construction sites with exposure to both clinical and administrative areas of the Medical Center.
â€¢ Access to vehicle for travel to work sites.
â€¢ May require travel to the neighbor islands.
â€¢ Some use of ladders is required.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
â€¢ Bachelor s degree in engineering or construction management; or five (5) years work experience as a Project Manager in institutional or commercial projects may be substituted for education requirement.
â€¢ Valid U.S. driver's license required in accordance with HI State law rules and regulations.
â€¢ Meets and complies with qualifications set forth in QMC Fleet Safety Policy.
â€¢ Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification issued by the Project Management Institute highly desirable.
â€¢ In addition to educational requirement, two (2) years experience in managing institutional or large scale commercial projects.
â€¢ Experience to demonstrate all aspects of construction and project management, i.e., plan reading, cost estimating, trades knowledge, etc. required.
â€¢ Supervisory and/or management experience in the building trade preferred.
